If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. American Divers International (ADI) has been a PADI 5-Star Training Facility for over 35 years. You get one on one class sessions with our highly qualified instructors. The class is at your pace and on your schedule!

What You Learn

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving,
  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills,
  • Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

Academic

This gives you the basic knowledge and understanding of the underwater environment. Just like learning to drive, you need to know the rules of the road. This knowledge gives you the rules for proceeding into the wonderful underwater environment.

PADI eLearning is a web-based training that is offered through the PADI website. It allows you to complete all the academic portions (reading, knowledge reviews, waivers, tests, and quizzes) in the comfort of your home from any device with an internet connection at your own pace and on your own schedule.

The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have perpetual access to an online version of the PADI Open Water Diver manual.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course online will take approximately 12-15 hours to complete.

Prior to certification as a PADI Open Water Diver, you’ll take a short eLearning Quick Review to confirm your understanding of safety-related material from the course prior to beginning the practical portion.

Practicals

Confined Water (Pool) - we test your swimming skills and your ability to float. Then we teach you a series of skills that you will need when you are diving. Skills such as, clearing your mask, how to control your breathing and how to properly control your buoyancy.

Open Water Dives (4 total) - all of the skills and knowledge that you learned in academics and confined water will now be demonstrated in your open water dives. All dives are completed in the Ocean, off of a boat. We don't dive in any of the marrow-pit, alligator-infested lakes, springs, or swamps. We want you to gain your diving experience where you are most likely to actually dive!. Each dive has a prescribed set of skills that you will demonstrate to your instructor. Once you have completed all 4 dives, you will become a CERTIFIED OPEN WATER DIVER!

Open Water Dives

Ow Dive No Date American Divers International US$ 140.00

American Divers International (ADI) prides itself on being able to provide our customers with excellent dive locations using boat charters that have courteous and knowledgeable Captains and Divemasters, and clean and reliable boats. ADI does not, however, own these operations. In order for ADI to get our great dive trip rates, we have to reserve space on the boat in advance. ADI is then obligated to either fill those slots or return them to the operator with enough time for the operator to sell those unused slots. Therefore, ADI has a 72-hour cancellation policy on all dive trips:·         If a customer must cancel their dive trip and notifies ADI more than 72-hours before the departure time, ADI will refund the cost of the trip, or a credit for a future trip will be issued.·         If a customer must cancel their dive trip and notifies ADI less than 72-hours before the departure time or does not arrive to the boat by the departure time, ADI will be unable to issue a refund or credit, as we will be charged by the boat operator for that empty slot.·         If the boat operator cancels the trip (poor weather, mechanical difficulties, etc.) then a refund or credit towards a future trip will be issued by ADI.·         If the customer believes the weather is poor, but the operator still runs the trip, ADI will be unable to issue a refund or credit.
